Reykjavik shore walk

A city-edge walk for dogs who already live in Iceland, with the pools left to people.

Colorful corrugated houses on a quiet Reykjavik street

This is not a Golden Circle pet tour. Buses, moss, and bird cliffs are a bad combination, and import rules are a separate wall. The shore walk is the local version: colorful streets, sea air, and a turnaround before the rain makes the decision for you.

The Lava Field Lodge is the stay that matches this pace. Dry off properly afterward. A wet dog in a dramatic landscape is still a wet dog on a sofa.

Good to know

  • Do not plan this around flying a pet into Iceland.
  • Skip anything signed as a sensitive natural area.
  • Geothermal baths are not dog-friendly attractions. Enjoy them without your pet, with a sitter you trust, or skip them.

Leash: On. Moss, birds, and weather are the three reasons.
